1997
The beginning of the FCA brand
It is year 1997. Mr Andrzej Szymowski, the then CEO of ASCOMP S.A., decides to form a new company. FCA Sp. z o.o. starts its operation. And it happens in a key period for Polish telecommunications. The first optical fibres had just arrived in our country, and we had the honour of participating in their distribution and in the construction of what we can now call Digital Poland.
2002
The first million
What a year it has been! After only 5 years of FCA's existence, we manage to generate our first million PLN turnover! This is definitely a solemn moment, worth commemorating and celebrating.
1999
Fiber optic laboratory
And so together as a team to... to increase the optical power. The year 1999 and the 6th floor of a skyscraper in Mogilska street in Cracow, was first of all the beginning of our optical fibre laboratory. Already then, the young, well-integrated team knew that optical fibres are the future.

Different levels of adrenaline
Another story from the beginning of our business. Our first headquarters - a high-rise building in Mogliska Street - was a very attractive location on the map of Krakow. The proximity of administrative centres, especially the District Court, meant that several floors were rented by the prosecutor's office.
All roads lead to.... the airport?
The year 2017 and the world's largest telecommunications fair in China - CIOE (China International Optoelectronic Exposition). We had the amazing opportunity to attend this event. However, all good things come to an end one day and it was time to leave.
Unfortunately, the date of the fair coincided with the then protests in Hong Kong. It was from there that our representatives were supposed to travel home.
Every detail matters.
1998, the beginnings of our production, still in the Krakow headquarters. As always, delivery times and efficient product assembly were key. One of the indispensable elements were Teflon applicators, used for gluing the bodies to the E2000 connector.
The stock of applicators was low, so the decision was simple - place the order. The quantity here was very important, as it was 1000 pieces. The supplier has been verified, the goods have been ordered, now we wait.
The adventure with the unruly pine tree
Every construction site has its obstacles.
The year 2011, Energetab trade fair. An event that probably needs no introduction to anyone from the power and electrical engineering industry. Everything, it would seem, was planned to the tiniest detail. The place and the space rented, a proven company to build a stand and full preparation for the trip. It was not our first time, so nothing could go wrong, right?
Broken car - it won't stop us!
Every year our partner, Huber+Suhner, organises a so-called "roadshow" - a travelling event across Europe to promote fibre optic solutions for mobile networks. 2014, however, was an exceptional year. FCA had the opportunity to co-create this project! The first stop in Poland was in Warsaw, so our colleague was to set off in a Skoda Fabia Combi packed with equipment up to the roof. Everything would have been fine, if it wasn't for an engine failure on the eve of the trip! Unfortunately, it required a very serious overhaul.
Another time on the move...
Did you know that : our headquarters have changed more than once?
Although nowadays our branches can be found all over the country, everything had to start at some point. Our first premises were located in Kraków at Mogilska 43. Unfortunately, today we can only admire photos of the old Prodlew building
I've got the power!
How important is a good layout of a building?
Not everyone knows it, but our current premises used to be a tannery. And although the building has drastically changed its purpose, some interesting installation solutions have remained.
Are you sure who your message has reached?
As you can clearly see, the name of our organisation can be associated with yet another company. And while for us it has never been a problem to share with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, sometimes interesting stories arise from this. Here is one of them.

It was supposed to be a morning like any other in 2007. Our network systems architect - Tomasz Augustynek was to start his working day with a scheduled trip to a network installation site. It was not a close trip, because all the way to Olsztyn! Unfortunately for Tomek, fortune was definitely not rolling.
